TRIGEMA ®, located in the South German Burladingen, is not only Germany’s largest T-shirt and tennis apparel manufacturer. The company is always tackling new ways to social and environmental responsibility. TRIGEMA ® is the only German company that produces, from beginning to end, their finished product exclusively at their sites in Germany. Instead of obtaining raw materials due to the low price on the world market, it is the aim of the company to purchase materials according to a defined quality and process.
TRIGEMA® has established a new standard of quality. Together with EPEA International Umweltforschung GmbH in Hamburg the company has created a line of products that excels not only in their economic and environmental benefits but in offering consumers a higher quality standard.
The textiles and garments which have been developed are composed of a variety of material components (threads, labels, threads, dyes), all of which have been defined as part of the secure biological cycle system. The present concept of waste is unnecessary, because the so-called “Cradle to Cradle®” products continue to use their resources to produce new products or serve as a nutrient for the biological cycle because they are fully compostable after use.
The raw materials of various materials were selectively chosen. After the quality control of the entire supply chain of EPEA, a chemical evaluation of all the ingredients and constituents was performed. All materials and procedures had to be defined in a positive agenda to be part of the Cradle to Cradle Design®.
The “Wellness Polo Shirt” by TRIGEMA® is the world’s first 100% organic cotton t-shirt in Cradle to Cradle®. It is characterized by specific skin-friendliness, excellent ware-physiological properties, durability as the best wash and lightfastness.
This is a product that excels not only because of the economic and environmental benefits, but also because it gives the consumer a higher quality of life.
