Albin Kälin, CEO of EPEA Switzerland, has been named as a winner of the CEO Today Europe Award 2021. With this annual award, the globally circulated British magazine CEO Today celebrates European CEOs, entrepreneurs and managing directors, who, in the opinion of the jury, have demonstrated particular merit over the past twelve months. The award is intended to recognize “genuine top performances” and “innovative thinking”. A special edition of the magazine was published in which all winners were presented and named. According to information from the publication itself, the award aims to offer a platform to inspire managers of the future. Kälin was previously awarded the UBS Key Trophy “Rhine Valley Entrepreneur of the Year” back in 2001.EPEA Switzerland is an accredited expert for Cradle to Cradle Certified certifications. The organization defines and develops products suitable for the circular economy. In contrast to conventional recycling, the onus here is on maintaining the quality of the raw materials across several product lifecycles. Moreover, “assessed safe chemicals” are exclusively used for production processes. For EPEA Switzerland, all of this means: No waste, all ingredients are considered as nutrients. The right materials are integrated in defined cycles at the right time and place.Other award-winners from Switzerland include André Wyss (Implenia), Andreas Lutz (Fides) and Marc von Waldkirch (Sensirion). In addition, Nicole Heimann and Marina Cvetkovic (Heimann Cvetkovic & Partners), Pascal Grieder (Salt) and Peter Balzer (Wascosa) were recognized as well, with Simon Michel (Ypsomed) and Urs Schaeppi (Swisscom) likewise named among the winners.
